The weights are yours
Tunable per institution, and they renormalise automatically. A conservatoire and an engineering school should not weight the same components identically, and they do not have to.
One number out of 100 that says how ready a student is for the roles they are aiming at. Computed in the backend from nine measured components. It is reproducible, it can go down, and it tells you why it moved. Most tools in this category can claim none of those three.
Here is every input. What each one contributes is our own calibration, built and tuned over time, and we do not publish it. We will walk your team through the full model under NDA during procurement, and your institution can tune the weighting on top of it.
| Component | Contribution | Drawn from |
|---|---|---|
| Skill assessment | Highest | Cognitive, technical, execution, initiative, learning agility and resilience |
| Experience and evidence | High | Internships, projects, hackathons, resume evidence |
| Scenarios | High | Situational judgement, scored against a fixed rubric |
| Career alignment | Moderate | Career clarity plus fit against the top career match |
| Voice | Moderate | Voice assessment metrics plus communication |
| Academic | Moderate | CGPA band, on your own grading scale |
| Written reflections | Supporting | Evidence prompts |
| Supporting documents | Supporting | Transcripts, certificates |
| Engagement quality | Supporting | Behavioural data quality across the attempt |
Tunable per institution, and they renormalise automatically. A conservatoire and an engineering school should not weight the same components identically, and they do not have to.
A component with no data scores zero across its full weight and is not redistributed away. Skipping the voice assessment genuinely lowers the score. The report names what was skipped, links to it, and recalculates when it is done.
A data quality modifier scales the result, so the score carries its own uncertainty rather than pretending it does not exist.
Only learning verified by passing the end-of-week knowledge check. Reading alone moves nothing. The uplift is capped, and it cannot lift a student across the readiness line from below: crossing that line requires fresh measurement.
Adaptive reassessment targets the weakest prior dimensions and spot-checks the areas the student was previously strong in. Fail a retest in an area they were credited for and the credit comes back. Cadence resolves from the programme length you set per department: roughly annual in first year, six-monthly in the middle years, three-monthly in the final year.
Three of the five placement pipeline stages derive from this score and update themselves. Your staff hand-manage only Interviewing and Placed, because those are the two stages the system cannot observe.
Not yet assessed sits with At risk, deliberately, because an unmeasured student is not a safe student. The band boundaries are part of the calibration and we set them with you during rollout.
| Code | Dimension | What it captures |
|---|---|---|
| D1 | Cognitive and Analytical Ability | Reasoning, problem structuring, analytical judgement |
| D2 | Communication and Interpersonal | Clarity, listening, working with and through people |
| D3 | Digital and Technical Readiness | Tooling, technical fluency for the target field |
| D4 | Execution and Accountability | Finishing, reliability, owning an outcome |
| D5 | Initiative and Ownership | Starting without being asked, scope beyond the brief |
| D6 | Learning Agility and Adaptability | Speed of pickup, response to change |
| D7 | Career Orientation and Interests | Direction, motivation, interest profile |
| D8 | Resilience and Professional Maturity | Pressure, setbacks, professional conduct |
Five reporting bands across each dimension. Students see the band and what moves it. Administrators see the underlying value.
This is not a skills test and SkillDrift is not an assessment platform. The assessment is one early step in a career platform that runs from first profile to first role. It is not a percentage match against job descriptions, and if you have seen it described that way anywhere, that description is wrong.
